Doing the things

So, 2023 was a great year for me and getting short stories published as you can see by the posts below this one. As for 2024 and today, I am still writing a bunch but not seeking publication yet (I have about 4 shorts going at once right now). I have been on the music side of things creatively. I know this is probably bullshit, but in my life I kind of believe that I am either writing or doing music, but can’t really do both. Yeah, that has to be bullshit. But, it is how I have been doing my creative outlets now for a few decades.

So ANYWAY, my band, Crack Fox has been a delight this past year. We’ve recorded a split e.p. with another band called Flannel and the vinyl will FINALLY be coming here in the next month or so (fingers crossed). It’s called Capitol City Confidential with the cover art here by Hunter Duke (who is in Flannel). We are also planning to record more this year and also working on a music video.

The band has also been playing live fairly regularly, we even had t-shirts made with the design by the fantastic, Barf Comics. James Callahan. Here is the graphic:

And ANOTHER music thing I have been involved with is the Richmond Synth Collective. I had a piece of music from my Traffic Calming Pattern project on their wonderful compilation that came out in December of last year and was my local pick of the year on my radio show. Hours of local folks who do synth music and is available for free on the link.

And finally, some good writing vibes coming from Andrew Blossom and his Makeout Creek Books. They are planning a retrospective compilation of writing from the magazine over the years and he asked if he could include my non-horror piece called “I Cut the Grass”. Quite an honor to be considered for a kind of best of compilation of their work! YAY!

So, yes, still doing lots of things!
